Case 170

The Caffey Family

*** Content Warning: child victims, gun violence ***

On February 29 2008, members of the Caffey Family were sleeping soundly in their Texas home when intruders suddenly stormed in and launched a brutal attack. After setting the house on fire, the intruders fled, unaware that one family member was still alive. Patriarch Terry Caffey emerged from the burning building barely clinging to life, his body riddled with bullet wounds.

In the wake of the attack, it was discovered that Terry’s teenage daughter, Erin Caffey, was missing. A prime suspect soon emerged in Erin’s ex-boyfriend, Charlie Wilkinson. But what could drive the young man to slaughter the family of the woman he loved? The answer is shocking.
