Case 229
The Killer Realtor
*** Content Warning: gun violence, sexual assault ***
On November 6 2003, a customer entered the Superbike Motorsports dealership in Chesnee, South Carolina. Nothing could prepare them for the grisly scene inside. Four employees had been gunned down in cold blood – Scott Ponder, Beverly Guy, Brian Lucas, and Chris Sherbert.
The quadruple homicide was one of the worst crimes Spartanburg County had ever seen. The investigation eventually went cold until a decade later, when two people went missing, and a successful realtor named Todd Kohlhepp took the case in an unexpected direction.
