Case 26
Lisa Marie Young
Vancouver Island is known for its breathtaking scenery and incredible wildlife, but on certain parts of the island, a dark underbelly lies beneath the beauty.
In the early morning hours of June 30 2002, that underbelly rose to the surface when 21-year-old Lisa Marie Young left a house party in Nanaimo to go pick up some food with a man she’d met earlier that night. Soon after, she called a friend to say that she was in an uncomfortable situation and needed help. Her final text message read: “Come get me, they won’t let me leave.”
